What to do about buzzing mosquitoes

Hands Up… have you had that annoying buzzing sound in your ear just as your about to nod off?

Well you’re not alone, it’s happened to most of us and unlike the fly and the cockroach, they are so much harder to see.  Given their fine size, it’s often that you find yourself bitten before you realise that they are around.

They too are breeders and the most common way to reduce your risk of mosquitoes is to remove their breeding sites.

You’ll find their presence in cool, dark and damp places such as rain water in discarded refrigerators, car tyres and tins, and in septic tanks/leach drains, water storage tanks, protected corners of effluent ponds and natural bodies of water. For those mosquitoes which do manage to breed somewhere and become a pest in the community, it is important to keep them out of houses.

Here are a few ways to reduce their presence in and around your home.

As mosquitoes can bite it’s also important to take personal protection measures such as:

We recommend using Terminator High Performance Odourless Multi-Insect Killer or Fast Knockdown Flying Insect Killer for in the home.  Both are highly effective for fast kill knockdown quick kill action and can be used as a complete room treatment.

When it comes to personal protection, choose a highly recommended DEET based product, that remains the most trusted and effective repellents against mosquitoes and other biting insects.

We recommended RID® Medicated Insect Repellent  which delivers a high quality superior formulation to repel biting insects without the need for high concentrations of DEET along with its unique inclusion of an Anti-microbial agent to help prevent infection.  RID®. Australia’s own skin friendly multi-purpose repellent.
